Build your website
Create your homepage, add pages and work with Gordon on the design.
On this page
Open your website
Choose the location, then open Online ordering → Website. Gordon stays available in the editor to help with design changes.
Homepage and Online ordering are built-in tabs. Use the plus button to add a draft page, such as your story or a menu introduction. Give additional pages unique names and addresses; Homepage and Online ordering are reserved pages and cannot be removed through Gordon.
Describe the change you want
Tell Gordon which page to edit and what you want changed. For example: “Shorten the homepage headline and keep the rest of the layout” or “Add a page about our restaurant.” “This page” refers to the selected page.
You can change content, typography, colors, headers, navigation, images and interactions. The starter layout is a starting point: it includes a hero, feature cards, story section, location finder, ordering link and footer. Adapt it to your restaurant.
Add your images and video
Upload your own images or MP4/WebM video, up to 5 MB per file. Gordon can use uploaded images but does not generate images.
Uploads save to the asset library immediately. Other pending page edits still need Save. Removing media from the library removes its reference; check where it is used before removing it.
See Website assets and colors for shared media and color settings.
Use a reference design
Provide a screenshot when you want to match a particular layout, typography or visual style. You can also supply a URL, but a page behind a login or an unreadable reference may need screenshots instead.
Include the actual text, restaurant details and photos you want published. Review any missing information before approving a design.
Ordering and reservation links
Keep Order online visible in the header on desktop and mobile, linked to the location's storefront. A Reserve a table button can use the location's reservation destination when reservations are available.
Review these links after changing navigation. A design change does not enable ordering or reservations by itself.
Menus and shared websites
Menu pages can show categories, subcategories, items, prices, sizes and choices. A menu outside its serving hours may still be available to work with in the editor. Menu serving times are separate from restaurant, delivery and pickup hours.
For a shared website, check that each location shows its own public address, phone number, menus, prices and hours. The location finder should list the locations actually using the website. Design changes apply to all linked locations.
Keep private staff, customer, inventory and financial information out of public page content. See Share a website across locations.
Save and preview
Save your page edits, then choose Preview website. Homepage and additional pages open as private previews of the saved design. With Online ordering selected, Preview website opens the storefront.
Review desktop and mobile layouts, page links, menu details and ordering buttons. If someone else has edited the page, review the latest version before making further changes.
A saved design or private preview is not a published website. Open Settings to publish when you are ready.
Undo a design change
Eligible page and color changes have Undo in the chat's change history. Undo preserves unrelated changes and later uploads. If the same part was edited again, undo that newer change first.
Older changes may not have Undo. Undoing a newly created page returns you to Homepage. On a shared website, undoing a shared change affects the linked locations. Undo does not publish the website.
