Add a team member

Select the location, open Team members and choose Invite team member to open the Add team member form. Review the person's role, status, shift type and compensation assignment before saving.

For the setup checklist, you need both a saved staff member at the location and a compensation group in its organization. Sending an invitation alone does not complete both requirements.

Roles and permissions

A staff record, a login account and dashboard access are related but separate. Role labels can include Admin, Member, Runner, Server, Kitchen prep, Kitchen cook and Manager.

A role called Manager does not automatically grant organization-administrator or payment access. Ask your administrator to review the actual permissions when a control is unavailable.

Manage invitations and account access through the relevant team controls. Keep POS PINs private and use the PIN-management controls for changes.

Compensation groups

Compensation can be hourly, fixed daily, fixed weekly or fixed monthly. Overtime rules can use a multiplier such as 1.5×, a percentage addition such as 25%, or a fixed extra amount. Rules can apply to selected weekdays, such as weekends.

Configured rates and policies do not show completed payroll or the final amount payable for a particular period. Review worked time, breaks and the assigned policies with the person responsible for payroll.

Break-policy example

A policy can allow a number of paid break minutes per shift and make additional time paid or unpaid.

For example, with a 20-minute paid allowance and unpaid excess, a recorded 35-minute break has 20 paid minutes and 15 unpaid minutes.

Review activity

Staff clock in, clock out, start breaks and end breaks through POS. Their activity appears in the team member profile. Planned shifts and recorded attendance are separate.

Access restrictions can limit the staff and compensation details you see. An empty view may reflect your permissions rather than the absence of records.

Gordon can help read available team, schedule and activity information. Use the app's controls for changes to staff, roles, PINs, schedules or payroll.
