Rooms, tables and capacity
Rooms group the tables in your floor plan. Configure the actual tables and their seats using the floor-plan controls. A table's capacity is the total of its four seat counts.
An experience can be restricted to selected rooms. Without a room restriction, it can use all rooms at the location. Check both the experience's room selection and the table's capacity before assigning a party.
A room with reserved tables cannot be deleted until those reservations are resolved.
Check for conflicts
Allow for the full booking duration and any turnaround buffer. Include bookings from other experiences using the same tables, as well as bookings on adjacent dates during overnight service.
Confirmed bookings and pending requests with assigned tables occupy those tables. Waitlisted guests do not reserve capacity. A booking without a table assignment still needs a suitable table.
Use the seats you actually have; changing a party's status does not create more space.
Review a seating proposal
You can ask Gordon for help planning assignments. Specify the service, date and bookings to consider, and name any fixed tables, seated parties or special seating requests.
A proposal is a suggestion until its assignments are saved. Review the table fit, timing, fixed assignments and any parties that remain unassigned. A new booking can make an earlier proposal out of date.
Keep existing booking times, durations and statuses unless you intend to change them. For a large service that cannot be planned at once, work through smaller groups and review the whole service for conflicts.
Seat arriving guests
Assigning a table to a reservation is different from seating the guests and opening their tab. Use POS when the party arrives so the booking and active service stay connected. Make changes to POS-linked bookings there too.
Gordon does not continuously monitor the floor. Use the floor-plan and POS controls for layout changes and live seating; check the saved assignments after any changes.
