Work with Gordon
Give Gordon a clear task and use the saved result to decide what comes next.

Ask for the outcome you want
Tell Gordon what you want to do, such as “Add a Large size to these pizzas” or “Show my best-selling items last week.” Include the location, items and period when they are not clear.
Questions about a feature or a task's status do not change your settings. For an edit, state the change you want. Gordon may ask for a detail needed to identify the right item, price or choice.
Name the item and location
Use the location dropdown before sending your request. “Here” refers to that selection. To work on another location, name it explicitly. For several locations, list them.
Name the original item as well as its new value. “Rename the Earl Grey item to Green tea” is clearer than “Rename the drink to Green tea” when you have several drinks.
If you switch locations during a conversation, mention the item and location again. A task already running keeps its original location.
Check shared changes
Items, modifier groups, catalogues and websites can be shared. A change may affect other menus or locations using the same content.
Say whether you want to update shared content or make an independent copy. For example: “Let Acme use the same catalogue as Max Hamburger” is different from “Make an independent copy for Acme.”
For a batch change, name or list the items. “Move the 30 items I added” may be ambiguous if there are several recent batches.
Supply files and references
Upload menu files, images or written details and explain how to use them: as a reference, a new import or an update. Provide the prices, ingredients and choices your restaurant actually offers.
A menu import normally updates menu management. Ask separately for website design or page content. For visual website references, include screenshots if the original page cannot be read.
Read progress and results
An opened page, preview or proposal is not a saved change. Read the completion message for what was saved and any remaining work.
A task can save some changes before another part fails. Ask to continue the remaining work after checking the saved result. Avoid repeating the whole request without checking, as that can create duplicate work.
If another person edits the same content while Gordon is working, a conflict may require you to review the latest version.
Find a setting or continue setup
Ask Gordon to open a setting or help with the next setup step. Opening a form does not save or submit it. See Find a dashboard setting for common paths.
Website-editor conversations work on the selected site's design. Restaurant conversations use the selected location. Available actions depend on the workspace and your access.
Know when to use the app directly
Gordon can explain printer setup but cannot inspect or operate your local POS printer. Use the app's controls for staff access, PINs, attendance and other actions unavailable in chat.
Use payment controls for refunds and payouts. Dispute responses have their own review and submission workflow. See Gordon progress, stopping and undo before stopping or reversing changes.
