Schedules, attendance and breaks
Read planned shifts and actual activity without mixing the two.

Planned shifts
Permanent schedules describe recurring shifts. Dated shifts describe individual occurrences, while exceptions exclude particular dates. Review these together to understand the roster without counting a recurring shift twice.
Use the location's timezone, including daylight-saving changes. To move one shift, identify the person, date and time and change that occurrence rather than the whole weekly schedule.
Recorded attendance
Staff use POS to clock in, clock out, start a break and end a break. You can review their recorded activity in the team member profile.
Scheduled hours and worked hours are separate. A missing clock event may need a correction; it does not necessarily mean the person was absent. Changing a planned shift does not correct attendance already recorded.
Breaks and compensation
Compensation and break policies determine how recorded time is treated. For example, with 20 paid break minutes per shift and unpaid excess, a 35-minute break has 20 paid minutes and 15 unpaid minutes.
Check the assigned policy rather than assuming all breaks are paid or unpaid. Configured pay rates and planned shifts are not a completed payroll calculation.
Salary reports
Salary reporting uses closed time entries and can include active and inactive staff. It is not based on scheduled hours or the restaurant's test/live sales mode. A person may have several compensation entries; review their combined result by currency.
Attendance, schedules, compensation and tips are subject to access restrictions. Staff may be limited to their own attendance and dated schedules, while compensation requires manager access. Missing access can hide information rather than indicate that no records exist.
Make corrections
Use the team and attendance controls available to your role for changes. If you cannot make a correction, ask your administrator. Gordon can help read available team information but cannot edit staff, schedules, attendance or payroll through chat.
